The Differentiators

The differentiator for a business is the uniqueness and the value proposition that you bring to the table. If I were on the other side of the table (customer), I'd ask all the questions that my current customers ask and then make an informed decision.

But when it comes to identifying the niche, our strength and our area of uniqueness, we need a lot more thought and a lot of work to go into it. It is the value you add to the world that brings business to you.

I had only heard that entrepreneurship can be stressful and issues can keep you awake all night. I realized it first hand when last night I was up at 3 in the morning wondering how to establish a foot in this world.

In search of a Mentor

It is said that for any business to establish, the first and foremost thing you need is your first customer. There is a need to get regular stream of work to bring predictability and grow. Especially if you are not equipped with a lot of contacts and if you cannot find your way to find business in the marketplace, it is very difficult to survive. In this world of fierce competition, entrepreneurs like me look for a mentor, a guide. A person who can help us learn how to fish rather than one who can give us a few fishes.

We look for our ultimate guru who can help us in our quest of knowledge.

The Entrepreneurship - I

The road to entrepreneurship... hmm. Well it is difficult to describe. This is something that I always wanted to do. The seeds germinated when I was as young as 16 and wanted to support my family business. Unfortunately I could not do that and had to take up job to manage my needs. While I was working, I always dreamt of owning a business some day and wrote a few business plans. But my dreams never came to reality since I did not have enough risk taking abilities.

Now that I have entered into it, I feel I should have come here a lot earlier. It is quite satisfying to manage your own self and be proud of what you have produced. A feeling of owning your own time and energy to put them in the place where you want them is a huge plus.
